Stage Fright on a Summer Night

Mary Pope Osborne - Personal Name;

In this adventure, Jack and Annie are whisked by the Magic Tree House to Elizabethan London (circa 1600) to find a "special magic." Their quest takes them to the Globe Theatre, where they meet the iconic playwright, William Shakespeare. Due to a sudden shortage of actors, Shakespeare recruits Jack and Annie to perform roles as sprites in his play, A Midsummer Night's Dream. By helping the show to successfully "turn daytime into night" (the solution to their riddle), they find the magic they seek. A sub-plot involves their concern and attempt to rescue a poor, chained dancing bear named Dan from a cruel fate.
