Bad Girls

Jacqueline Wilson - Personal Name; Nick Sharratt - Personal Name;

Bad Girls tells the story of Mandy White, a ten-year-old girl who endures relentless and severe bullying from the older, popular girls at school. Desperate for refuge and friendship, Mandy escapes to a foster home near her own house. There, she forms an unlikely and intense friendship with Tanya, an older teenager who is currently in the foster care system and is considered rebellious and a "bad girl" by society.

Tanya gives Mandy the attention and confidence she craves and quickly becomes her role model and protector. However, Tanya's influence also leads Mandy into minor acts of delinquency, such as shoplifting, complicating Mandy's moral compass. The novel is a sensitive exploration of the intense desire to belong, the blurred lines between good and bad influences, and the profound emotional impact of bullying and social isolation on a young child.
