The Dare Game

Jacqueline Wilson - Personal Name; Mala Suhendra Griffiths - Personal Name;

The Dare Game continues the turbulent life of the imaginative and rebellious protagonist, Tracy Beaker, now living with her foster mother, Cam. Tracy initially believes her life will be perfect but soon clashes with Cam over boundaries and materialism, leading Tracy to seek escape by playing "The Dare Game"—a series of increasingly reckless challenges with other children.

The central conflict arises when Tracy's long-idolized biological mother unexpectedly contacts her. Tracy seizes the opportunity to leave Cam, only to discover that her mother is irresponsible, selfish, and frequently absent. The novel follows Tracy’s painful journey of confronting the harsh reality of her mother's failure. Ultimately, Tracy's courage is tested not by a dare, but by her ability to admit the truth about her disappointment and accept that love and family sometimes come from the most unexpected places.
